About Shelley
Shelley is a 2-week-old female Domestic Shorthair cat who is black and orange. Kittens of this age are entirely dependent on their mother's care or a human surrogate. Shelley will require a warm, safe environment with consistent feeding. At this stage, she is too young for litter box training. Her mother would typically stimulate her to eliminate. Without the mother, she needs gentle wiping after feeding. Her eyes are still developing, so she has limited vision. She will spend most of her time sleeping. As she grows, her coordination and mobility will improve. She will start to explore her surroundings around 3-4 weeks old. Socialization should begin slowly around this time. Domestic Shorthair kittens are generally healthy at this age. They gain weight rapidly if properly cared for. Proper nutrition is critical for their development. Shelley is at Dallas Animal Services in Dallas, TX, and was taken in on June 16, 2026. Contact Dallas Animal Services to inquire about adopting Shelley.
